Walks around Michelmersh & Timsbury

It looks like the good weather is going to stay with us for a summer full of sunshine and warm temperatures. It is the perfect chance to meet the beautiful surroundings of the 1st Floor Gallery Picture Framing. For those who are not familiar with our location in Hunts Farm, we are just 3 miles North of Romsey, very close to the Hillier Gardens and Mottisfont Abbey amongst other places of interest.

The beautiful Michelmersh & Timsbury streets are full of buildings dating from the 17th, 18th and 19th Century -like our premises- so if you wish to see a bit of rural traditional architecture in Hampshire, come and visit us and enjoy lovely walks around the area.

The Monarch's Way is a 7.8 miles walk around Timsbury and Braishfield that will take you through these two villages in a circular route full of sunshine and distinctive churches in the heart of the Test Valley.

If you fancy bird spotting and wildlife, the Fishlake Meadows is a nature reserve bursting with life all year long. The site covers over 60 hectares and is a mix of open water and standing water, reed bed and swamp, and flood plain marsh which is criss-crossed by rivers and ditches. It all can be enjoyed through a 3.25 mile circular walk starting from medieval Romsey.

The Michelmersh Circular Walk is a 4.50 miles walk that will take you through Mottisfont Abbey, in the care of the National Trust. This walk starts and finishes in Michelmersh Parish Church using the Test Way, a long distance path running between Eling and Inkpen Beacon on the Hampshire/ Berkshire boundary.

There are plenty of pubs, shops and tea rooms in the area where to relax and enjoy delicious homemade food and local specialities.

At the First Floor Gallery Picture Framing we will be delighted to welcome you when passing by.
